Parish President Pat Brister and the St. Tammany Parish Commission on Cultural Affairs present the 2014 Appetite for Arts Gala & Fundraiser benefiting the Public Arts Program in St. Tammany Parish. This year's President's Arts Awards will be hosted at the St. Tammany Parish Justice Center in historic Downtown Covington on January 31st at 6 pm. This year’s festivities will feature food from over 21 St. Tammany Parish restaurants, live music from Ronnie Kole and Christian Serpas, dance performances by Javier’s Dance Company and a theatrical performance by the Slidell Little Theatre.

A patron party hosted by Chef John Besh will take place from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Then the gala's first hour on the Justice Center's first floor will feature entertainment by jazz pianist Ronnie Kole – a past award winner – as well as beverages and food from seven area restaurants. Guests will move to the second floor during the second hour, where they'll be entertained by Javier Juarez, the first named Performing Artist of the Year, and members of the Slidell Little Theatre. The event will showcase and allow guests the opportunity to see our previous award recipients actually doing what they've been honored for in the past.

During the third hour, the ceremony for the 2015 awards recipients will take place on the Justice Center's third floor. The awards recognize individuals in several categories and are chosen by the nine Cultural Affairs Commissioners and Parish President Pat Brister. There are awards for performing, visual, literary, music and culinary artists of the year, as well as patron of the year.

"Appetite for Art: The 10th Annual President's Arts Awards Gala" will take place Jan. 31 from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the St. Tammany Justice Center, 701 N. Columbia St., Covington. Tickets are $75 per person. Tickets to the patron party from 5 to 6 p.m. are $150 per person.
